In looking at the lineup, there are a number of “Blues/Rock” bands playing. One can’t miss band that I highly recommend is Anders Osborne out of New Orleans. The Radiators are also playing. Anyone who has ever attended Jazz Fest is familiar with this party band. I also see that Tim Boykin’s Shame Idols are also playing. This is not Tim’s Blues band, butt he is such a good player, I will list him under “Not Necessarily the Blues” butt very entertaining. Check out http://www.dodahday.org/ for more info.
The festival will feature premier blues talent including — but not limited to — Jerry Portnoy, the legendary Sam Lay, Willie King & The Liberators, Cedric Burnside and Lightenin Malcolm, Mudcat, Highlander, Alabama blues women Carroline Shines, Debbie Bond, Shar-Baby and Sweet Claudette, plus Alabama blues talent “Birmingham” George Conner, Jesse Daniels, Rev. Little, Julian Conner, Taylor Moore, Caleb Childs, Grapevine, Robert, Alex, and more!

The Magic City Blues Society is a non-profit (501-C) organization founded on January 10, 1993.
The purposes of the society are:
(1) to encourage the performances of the blues;
(2) to encourage the preservation of the blues;
(3) to develop an appreciation of the blues within the community; and
(4) such other charitable civic, literary or cultural activities within the community consistent with the purposes stated above.
The blues is very much a part of Southern life and history, deserving recognition as a valid and historical folk art form.
